Quality Engineer will be responsible for managing and developing manufacturing protocols. He/she will be required to investigate, document, report on, manage resolution of, and implement preventive measures to address quality issues. Will also develop inspection criteria and methods for current and new products. Will help document procedures and work instructions. Will also be responsible for process/product/machine validations (IQ,OQ,PQ) and process capability studies. Work with customers on new product designs and develop CAD models and Drawings.

Other duties as assigned by management or supervisor.

Quality Engineer Job Duties:

  • In depth understanding of AS9100/ISO9002, and 14 CFR 145 Repair Station and GMP quality systems and documentation requirements
  • Experience with (IQ, OQ, PQ) validations
  • Developing first article inspection criteria from raw blueprints
  • Must have engineering drawing interpretation, machined part inspection and process validation skills
  • Able to interact in a professional manner with suppliers, customers, and internal staff members to address quality issues
  • Must have experience with 3D CAD modeling and Autocad
  • The Quality Engineer must have and demonstrate thorough understanding of the national and international organizations that define the quality requirements for a validation, including ISO/ASTM regulations
  • Accomplishes quality assurance human resource objectives by helping recruiting, selecting, orienting, training, assigning, scheduling, coaching, counseling employees; communicating quality expectations and help enforcing policies and procedures.
  • Achieves quality assurance operational objectives by contributing information and analysis to strategic plans and reviews; preparing and completing action plans; implementing production, productivity, quality, and customer-service standards; identifying and resolving problems; completing audits; determining system improvements.
  • Develops quality assurance plans by conducting hazard analyses; identifying critical control points and preventive measures; establishing critical limits, monitoring procedures, corrective actions, and verification procedures; monitoring inventories.
  • Validates quality processes by establishing product specifications and quality attributes; measuring production; documenting evidence; determining operational and performance qualification; writing and updating quality assurance procedures.
  • Maintains and improves product quality by completing product, company, system, compliance, and surveillance audits; investigating customer complaints; collaborating with other members of management to develop new product and engineering designs, and manufacturing and training methods.
  • Prepares quality documentation and reports by collecting, analyzing and summarizing information and trends including failed processes, stability studies, recalls, corrective actions, and re-validations.
  • Updates job knowledge by studying trends in and developments in quality management; participating in educational opportunities; reading professional publications; maintaining personal networks; participating in professional organizations.
  • Enhances department and organization reputation by accepting ownership for accomplishing new and different requests; exploring opportunities to add value to job accomplishments, and implementing change and continuous improvement.
  • Works towards increasing the efficiency of the manufacturing unit while building a quality product.
  • Works towards cutting the maintenance and repair cost while ensuring a quality product.
  • Reviews company’s manufacturing activities and provides recommendations to reduce tooling cost and improve set up times, materials flows and cycle times. The engineer also analyzes manufacturing data or process information, monitors surroundings or materials, makes decisions and solves complex quality problems.
  • Good understanding and experience of lean manufacturing principles and product flow.
  • Creates a safety work environment and design processes and quality procedures that match our safety standards.
  • Implement error-proof techniques, tooling and procedures to ensure a good quality product.

Education Requirements

  • BS degree and 5 years quality management, manufacturing, engineering experience preferred. In lieu of degree prior work experience, certification and education will be considered.

Skills/Experience Required
Prior experience having successful led AS9100/ISO9002 implementation and certification. Must possess excellent project management skills. Excellent written/verbal communication. Ability to present out information to executive team on status of projects, lead AS9100/ISO9002 Management Review; Develop Corrective Action Reports and tracking for closed loop; develop quality standards, metrics and instructions and train organization in Quality System.

Aviation Business Development Manager (West Coast Territory)

Summary:  Call on customers and make in-person presentations at client’s place of business. Marketing for new product launches.  Appointments will mostly be based on self-generated leads, with some warm leads also provided by our Inside Sales team. You will also follow up with customers and provide client management for existing accounts.

Duties include but are not limited to the following:
